About Neuroscience

The Neuroscience ASRI is a committed group of laboratory-based and clinical neuroscientists, with a common goal of understanding the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves in health and disease. The ASRI incorporates the Centre for Neuroscience of the Flinders University and Flinders Medical Centre.

We use a wide range of state-of-the-art research strategies, spanning from the molecular and cellular level up to the whole organism, in the fields of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, proteomics, psychology and neuronal modelling.

Our research provides the foundation for advances in medical specialties such as neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, radiology, gastroenterology, cardiology, ophthalmology and speech pathology.

We are committed to advancing fundamental knowledge of the nervous system and translating this into clinical practice and the development of new materials and procedures.
